park delight

Since 1882 Beacon Hill Park is a garden oasis in Victoria. Woodland trails, playgrounds, a water park, a petting zoo, ponds, picnic areas, a band pavilion, landscaped gardens and spectacular vistas over the Juan de Fuca Strait draw the locals and tourists alike. The park provides a habitat for a variety of birds and wildlife, including nesting herons, more than a hundred bird species, river otters and turtles. There is always something to do and see here.

This image is iconic of an idyllic summer day. Turtles basking on a log in the sun on Goodacre Lake with the rustic stone bridge in the background.
