detail and texture

Rich fauna, beachfront, forest of Douglas fir, big leaf maple and Garry oak trees, rivers, creeks and lakes…all in one regional park. It is easy to forget you are minutes from a major city when you walk the trails at Thetis Lake Regional Park.
I love this image for its use of contrast to enhance the detail and texture in the moss and ferns on the rocks. It’s one of the reasons I love black and white photography so much—you see those details and texture first and the movement of the water is secondary in this image.
