what lies beyond

It was time to leave the familiar world of daylight behind and venture into the darkness to explore the magical landscape of the night. ‘Night’ adds a brand new dimension to otherwise “ordinary” street scenes, as in this case.

The streetlight is illuminating only one spot on this quiet lane. It’s exposing the trees and bushes lining the lane. I also see the tracks of a recent vehicle’s passing. 

But it isn’t just darkness that makes this image, it’s the filter applied to it—black and white with a blue tone, creates mystery and suspense—

• Where does this lane go? 
• What lies beyond in the darkness?
• What will come out of the darkness towards us?

I guess I’ll just have to explore and find out.
